  • Unions exist to collectively advocate for fair wages, safe working conditions, and clear employment standards. Through organized bargaining, members empower the union to negotiate contracts, protect workplace rights, and hold employers accountable. These efforts are driven by member participation - from voting on contracts to electing leadership and setting priorities for the local. More members = a stronger union. Choosing to join a union and participating in that union strengthens our collective voice.

  • Applicant must have proof through call sheets and paystubs of paid 90 non-union or 30 union days of work in the same craft position on professional motion picture, TV, or commercial projects. Work as a PA or an Apprentice does not qualify. Applicant must be working in a craft-covered position. Please visit the bottom of our home page to see the crafts Local 484 covers. Members of other locals may also join by transfer. Those with questions about joining the union may contact the office or business agent. See the website footer for contact information. Those ready to join or transfer may email applications@iatse484.org.

  • Motion Picture, TV, and Commercial professionals are encouraged to apply once they meet the application requirements. Those with questions about joining the union may contact the office or business agent. See the website footer for contact information.

  • The deadline for ALL completed application materials is the last day of each month - applications are reviewed at our monthly meetings by our Membership Committee on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Any applications that are missing information or lack all requirements will not be reviewed until all information is provided and all requirements are met.

While we are used to pouring our blood and sweat into our work, unionizing requires something more: our courage.
